A rotary compressor is provided to prevent deterioration of compression efficiency or space utilization caused by re-expansion of compressed refrigerant remaining in a cylinder by removing or minimizing the refrigerant by a remaining gas discharge part. A rotary compressor includes a casing, a driving motor coupled with the casing at a side of the casing, a cylinder(120) coupled with the casing at the other side thereof and having a groove(123) in the shape of half moon, a rotational shaft(130) coupled with the driving motor for transmitting the rotational force of the driving motor, a rolling piston(140) eccentric from the rotational shaft and rotating in the cylinder for compressing compression gas, and a vane(150) mounted to the cylinder for contacting the rolling piston and formed with a remaining gas discharging part(160) to be engaged with the groove at a top dead point of the vane. |
