METHOD FOR FLAMEPROOFING POLYAMIDES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer composition free of a halogen compound and containing polyamides having higher flame retardance as a main component or its molded article. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant polymer composition is obtained by adding an organophosphorus compound and a polyfunctional monomer (PFM) to a polymer alloy of polyamides with a polyphenylene ether resin (referred to also as polyphenylene oxide resin). A molded article containing polyamides having higher flame retardance as a main component is optionally provided by applying a radiation treatment such asγray irradiation to its molded article.
