PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of blowing the air blown out of a blow-out opening far away. SOLUTION: An air guide panel is provided for guiding the air blown out of the blow-out opening of a casing in a blowing direction, and the air guide panel can be opened and closed turnably around a first rotation axis with respect to the casing. The air guide panel is divided into a cover panel and an extension panel, and the cover panel is supported turnably around a second rotation axis with respect to the extension panel. A cover panel turning mechanism is provided with a driving motor arranged in a casing side, and a gear train transmitting driving force of the motor to a cover panel side. A holding mechanism is provided for preventing detachment of one part of the gear train in the cover panel side from meshing with a gear of the casing side during turning of the cover panel, a rotation axis of the gear of the cover panel side is positively embraced by an engagement hook of the casing side, and power transmission is ensured.
