PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive yarn material for knitting, which has improved absorption of waste oil, flown out oil, or the like. SOLUTION: This yarn material 1 is obtained by covering the surroundings of a core yarn 1 with a sufficient amount of fine powder 3 of activated carbon or Bincho charcoal and also covering the surroundings with a thin non-woven fabric 4, wind-sewing the surroundings of the non-woven fabric 4 covering the fine powder 3 of the activated carbon or Bincho charcoal with fibrous yarn 5 such as a synthetic fiber or cotton fiber by using a lock sewing machine, etc. By using the yarn material 1 as a warp yarn and/or sewing thread, a woven fabric and other knitted fabric 14 can be composed.
