A cleaning apparatus of a coating die is provided to wash a cleaning member simply by supplying washing liquid to the front end of the cleaning member from a washing liquid supply nozzle. In a cleaning apparatus of a coating die(10), the front end of a cleaning member comes into contact with the front section of a lip portion(11) of the coating die equipped with a thin and long slit-shaped ejection port supplying application liquid(1), across the longitudinal direction of the coating die. And then, the cleaning member moves in the longitudinal direction of the coating die to remove application liquid stuck on the lip portion of the coating die. A suction unit sucks the application liquid removed from the lip portion of the coating die by the cleaning member. A washing liquid supply nozzle moving together with the cleaning member is installed behind the movement direction of the cleaning member. After the application liquid stuck on the lip portion of the coating die is removed, the washing liquid is supplied toward the front end of the cleaning member from the washing liquid supply nozzle.
