PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe capable of detecting a membrane microdomain or a cholesterol recognition protein sensitively and precisely. SOLUTION: An amidated cholesterol is used, which is labeled by one selected from a group consisting of biotin, benzophenone, fluorescein, rhodamine, pyrene, BODIPY, Alexa Fluor, NBD and Texas Red. The molecule probe for detecting the membrane microdomain or the cholesterol recognition protein is provided to facilitate purifications accompanying visualization using fluorescence, labeling using photoreaction and labeling using biotin.
