PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element having extremely high efficiency and highly luminous optical output and being extremely durable. SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting element is composed of at least a pair of electrodes consisting of an anode and a cathode and a layer consisting of an organic compound with at least one layer held between a pair of electrodes. In the organic light-emitting element, at least one layer among layers each composed of the organic compound comprises at least one kind of carbazole derivative represented by general formula [I], wherein Ar is a substituted or unsubstituted condensed ring aromatic group with at least four rings.
