PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge suction device which can efficiently suck sludge into a tank according to a sludge sucking distance. SOLUTION: The sludge suction device is formed of: the tank 5 with a sludge vessel 8; a pump 22 for negatively pressurizing the interior of the tank 5; a suction changeover valve 25 for connecting between the pump 22 and the interior of the tank 5 or interrupting the connection; a hose reel 9 having a sludge suction pipe 51 for sucking raw sludge water into the tank 5; a sludge pipe 47 having one end thereof connected to the sludge suction pipe 51 and the other end thereof connected to the tank 5; an on-off valve 49 arranged across the sludge pipe 47; an auxiliary suction pipe 97 arranged in the sludge pipe 47 at a location between the on-off valve 49 and the tank 5; and an auxiliary suction valve 98 for sucking the raw sludge water into the auxiliary suction pipe 97.
