A system and a method for recognizing and searching plate numbers are provided to identify the plate numbers by inputting information using voice, letters, and a camera. A system for recognizing and searching plate numbers includes an information inputting unit(20), a camera(10), an information processing unit(30), a storing unit(32), and a connection unit. The information inputting unit is used for inputting plate number information of a vehicle through voice or letters in order to recognize the plate number of the vehicle. The camera is used for recognizing the plate number as images. The information processing unit analyzes information inputted from the information inputting unit and the camera. The storing unit stores information on the vehicle. The connection unit is used for connecting to a server that stores the information. The information on the vehicle stored in the storing unit is transmitted and received to/from the server through the connection unit so that the information on the vehicle is updated. |
