A vehicle seat (10) comprising a plurality of elements pivotably and movably connected to one another which constitute a seat frame (20), a forward support (30) and a backrest frame (40) lengthened to a rear support (50). The pivotably and movably connected elements are preloaded by a spring force towards an initial position of the seat (10). A desired seat position which differs from the initial position and may comprise at least two out of a height position of the seat frame (20), an angle of inclination of the seat frame (20) and a slope angle of the backrest frame (40) can be set simultaneously by a person seated in the seat. Doing so involves the person releasing at least one locking device (38, 72, 76) which acts upon the movable elements (30, 70, 74), exerting thereon a force against the spring force towards the desired seat position and finally locking the locking device or devices (38, 72, 76).
