PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can reduce necessary memory capacity when image data for formation are generated in response to an image formation indication to perform image formation control, and is applicable to various data formats and image formation systems. SOLUTION: The image processor accepts the image formation indication including information regarding an image to be formed, generates image data for formation selectively for a partial image including an image element among a plurality of partial images obtained by dividing the image to be formed in response to the accepted image formation indication and writes the image data for formation in a predetermined storage area, and performs control to form the object image on a medium by using the image data for formation written in the predetermined storage area.
