<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for firing a solid electrolyte body with less restrictions on the shape or dimension of a firing material, and to provide a method for production of the solid electrolyte body. <P>SOLUTION: Since a setter for firing is composed of high-purity magnesia, its reaction with the solid electrolyte comprising an oxide of a perovskite structure is sufficiently inhibited. Further, since the high-purity magnesia has high stability without deforming or shrinking even at a temperature of 1,400-1,600°C, there is no need for use of a sand as before, and a firing treatment can be performed in such a state that a firing material contacts the setter directly. As a result, the restriction on the shape or dimension of the firing material is relaxed, and its deformation as well as the deterioration of surface roughness is suppressed. Furthermore, since magnesia is comparatively inexpensive among oxides, it has an advantage of production cost reduction, that is, the solid electrolyte body excellent in characteristics can be obtained easily and inexpensively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
