<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive color filter for a liquid crystal display device free from the defects in display such as disclination and flicker, and the reduction of contrast without providing an overcoat layer. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter 10 for a liquid crystal display device comprises: a transparent substrate 1; a pattern of colored layers 2 to 4 with a plurality of colors formed on the transparent substrate 1 with gaps each other; and each light shielding layer 5 formed on the transparent substrate 1, filling the gaps among the colored layers 2 to 4 and further covering the circumferential parts 2a to 4a of the colored layers. Pixel parts of the colored layers 2 to 4 not covered with each light shielding layer 5 are substantially flat, and also, the disorder of liquid crystal alignment caused by protrusion tilted faces by the overlap of the colored layers 2 to 4 with each light shielding layer 5 of resin BM is substantially concealed by each light shielding layer 5 itself. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
