IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AUTHENTICATION METHOD AND AUTHENTICATION PROCESSING PROGRAM IN SAME APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for solving inconvenience that it is necessary for a user to perform the setting of an authentication request or a job again even when an external authentication device becomes unavailable due to failure or communication abnormality or the like.

SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is provided with a transmission means 18 for transmitting authentication information input by a user through a network 4 to an authentication device 2; a reception means 8 for receiving an authentication result from the authentication deice; and a control means 11 for accepting and storing the authentication request and the job from the user when the authentication device is not available, and for receiving authentication by the authentication device when the authentication device becomes available, and for executing the accepted job when the authentication is successful.
