<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet assembly capable of facilitating attachment of a grommet to a hole of a partition wall. <P>SOLUTION: This assembly includes a combination of the grommet 13 and an attachment assisting member 15. In the initial state, base edge parts of respective arms 33 are positioned on the side small-diameter tubular part 25 than the second flange part 19, and the small-diameter tubular part 25 and a sleeve 31 are fixed onto a wire harness W with the diameter of the second flange part 19 contracted. When the grommet 13 is attached in a hole 41 of the partition wall 39, the second flange part 19 of which the diameter is contracted is inserted in the hole of the partition wall, the first flange part 17 is abutted against an edge on an either side of the hole in the partition wall, and then the sleeve 31 is pulled in the direction of an arrow P. Then the base edge parts of the respective arms 33 move to a non-small diameter sleeve part side, from the small-diameter tubular part side of the second flange part 19, while the small-diameter tubular part 25 and a joint tubular part 27 contract in the axial direction, and the inclination direction of the arms 33 is reversed, and the diameter of the second flange part 19 is widened, thus sandwiching the partition wall 39 with the first flange part 17 and the second flange part 19. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
