PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state laser device capable of stably maintaining optical output and suppressing the total current consumption.
SOLUTION: The laser device detects an environmental temperature (Ts) and varies a control temperature (Tc) within a temperature range (25°C-45°C) in which the optical output can be stably maintained so that the difference between the control temperature (Tc) and the environmental temperature (Ts) may not become too large. In this way, a Peltier current can be reduced while the driving current of a semiconductor laser increases, compared to a case where the control temperature is kept at a constant value. Thus, since the rate of reducing the Peltier current is larger than that of increasing the driving current of the semiconductor laser, the total current consumption can be suppressed.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
