<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free stop hinge which can be set so as to reduce dispersion of a pressing force by a pressing means, and facilitates adjustment thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The free stop hinge 10 functions to connect an opening/closing body to a main body in an openable manner and in a manner capable of stopping the opening/closing body at an arbitrary opening angle, and is formed of a hinge base 20, and a hinge arm 40 rotatably connected to the hinge base 20 via a spindle 50. The hinge base 20 and the hinge arm 40 are provided with bearing plates 31, 45 having shaft holes 31a, 33a, respectively. Further a frictional plate 60 having a shaft hole 61 formed therein is arranged between the bearing plates 31, 45, and supported by the spindle 50 so as to make the hinge arm 40 rotatable with respect to the hinge base 20.
