A plasma display device is provided to prevent a barrier rib material from collapsing at a fluorescent material firing condition by forming the barrier rib using Bi2O3 or Pb3PO4. A plasma display device includes an upper substrate, first and second electrodes, a lower substrate, a third electrode, and a barrier rib(21). The first and second electrodes are formed on the upper substrate. The lower substrate is arranged to be opposed to the upper substrate. The third electrode is formed on the lower substrate. The barrier rib is formed on the lower substrate to define discharge cells. The barrier rib is made by using one of Bi2O3 and Pb3PO4. A concentration of Bi2O3 lies between 50 and 60 wt%. A concentration of the Pb3PO4 lies between 5 and 20 wt%. The barrier rib contains CuO and MnO.
