<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a target image formed on an image plane of an imaging device located in a moving vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A method includes the steps of: setting an origin in the image plane of an imaging device50 located in a moving vehicle 20 at an intersection of a first axis Xi, a second axis Yi and a third axis Zi, imaging a target 30 so that an image centroid of the image may be at the origin of the image plane, monitoring sensor data indicative of a motion of the vehicle by means of a sensor 60, and generating pan and tilt output to stabilize the image centroid at the origin in the image plane to calibrate for vehicle motion and target motion.
