A method and an apparatus for processing a downstream data packet in a channel bonding way are provided to achieve effective transmission of a data packet in a case the data downstream is executed in a CMTS(cable modem termination system) which supports a channel bonding way supported by the DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications) 3.0. A downstream service flow processing unit includes a channel bonding status, a transmittable channel group, a DSIP(Downstream Service Identifier) and the priority by receiving a data packet from outside. An MAC(Media Access Control) packet processing unit decides a channel for transmitting a packet, which is received from the service flow processing unit, according to the information included in the packet, and distributes the packet to each channel. At least one downstream MAC channel scheduler(307) decides the priority of the distributed packet, and transmits the packet according to the priority.
