The method involves displaying the structure (10) on an image recorder (14). An optical element (18) displays the structure in two areas of the image recorder separated from each other and moved against each other. The optical element is arranged in the image optical path. The structure is divided in sections and the sections are displayed in areas separated from each other. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) device for optical detection of structure (2) optoelectronic sensor, particularly distance disintegration sensor, for the protection of source of danger within a space area.
