The method involves detecting a position of a control lever (18), and determining a control signal target value from the position of the control lever. A control signal target value process is produced from the control signal target value and an adjustment function, and a control signal is produced from the control signal target value process. The process of the adjustment function is determined by time intervals, which are determined in dependent of a difference between the control signal target value and a control signal list parameter.
