DATA RECEPTION ACKNOWLEDGE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION APPARATUS AND METHOD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for transmitting/receiving a reception acknowledgement signal in a mobile communication system are provided to improve a performance by analyzing a reception acknowledgement signal using non-uniformity of an ACK/NACK signal. A method for transmitting/receiving a reception acknowledgement signal in a mobile communication system includes the steps of: receiving a reception acknowledgement signal for the reception of a transmitted packet data(S210); calculating a reception completion signal probability which indicates the reception completion of the packet data, and a reception fail signal probability which represents a reception failure of the packet data based on a predicted packet error rate for the reception completion of the packet data in response to a predetermined requested packet error rate(S220); and determining whether the reception acknowledgement signal is the reception completion signal or the reception failure signal based on the calculated reception fail signal probability and the calculated reception completion signal probability(S230).
