A system and a method for intermediating financial information for real-time settlement are provided to strengthen security by transmitting delivery information including a retail shop code and a delivery amount from a branch to the VAN(Value Added Network), and enabling the VAN to transmit the delivery information to a head office when the branch delivers goods to a retail shop and performs the settlement. A branch terminal(110) generates/transmits delivery information including a retail shop code and a delivery amount to a financial intermediary VAN(130) and receives a payment result for the delivery information from the VAN. A head office server(150) stores a retail shop payment account corresponding to the retail shop code and processes the payment for the delivery amount with the branch corresponding to the branch terminal. The VAN transmits the received delivery information to the head office server, requests the payment for the delivery amount by receiving the retail shop payment account corresponding to the retail shop code from the head office server, transmits the payment result to the branch terminal and the head office server, and performs the settlement with the head office server.
