A headrail or a bottomrail for a pleated shade has a base and a front wall that meet at an edge and form an acute angle. They are covered with the same fabric used in the pleated shade by placing a pleat on the edge, extending t he fabric over the front wall and attaching the fabric with an adhesive or hook and loop type fasteners. In a preferred embodiment the fabric extends over t he outside surface of the front wall and is attached to the inside surface of t he front wall. The acute angle keeps the fabric straight on the rail allows the fabricator to quickly attach the fabric without creating wrinkles.
