APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING ENTITLEMENT CONTROL MESSAGE/ ENTITLEMENT MANAGEMENT MESSAGE IN DMB SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for extracting a limited reception internal message(an ECM(Entitlement Control Message) or an EMM(Entitlement Management Message)) in a mobile multimedia broadcast system are provided to extract a limited reception internal message effectively without reference to an FIC(Fast Information Channel) of a DMB frame. A sub-channel data extracting unit(41) extracts sub-channel data set as limited reception from a mobile multimedia broadcast signal. A sub-channel prefix header analyzing unit(42) extracts sub-channel prefix length information from a sub-channel prefix length information field of the sub-channel data, and extracts start position information of a limited reception internal message from the sub-channel data. A sub-channel prefix data processing unit(43) extracts the limited reception interval message from the sub-channel data by using the sub-channel prefix length information and the start position information of the limited reception internal message.
