A method of reproducing data from an optical information storage medium is provided to confirm data recording modulation methods of a lead in area and of a user data area to a recording modulation method of the optical information storage so as to record much data and to reduce access time to the drive. Data is played from an optical information storage having a lead in area(10), a user data area(13), and a lead out area(15). The data recorded by a first recording modulation method is played in an entire or part of the lead in area. The data recorded by a second recording modulation method different from the first recording modulation method is played in the user data area. The optical information storage related information is recorded in the entire or part of the lead in area.
