A method for reproducing audio in a TV is provided to enable the TV to receive audio data stored in a portable audio reproduction device by wireless and output the received audio data through a speaker capable of the audio output of high quality, thereby enabling a user to listen to high-quality audio at home without connecting the speaker or a home theater to the portable audio reproduction device. A method for reproducing audio in a TV comprises the following steps of: receiving data transmitted by wireless(S110); restoring the received data; analyzing the restored data(S130); checking whether the analyzed data is TV remote controller data and controlling the operation of the TV according to the analyzed data if the analyzed data is the TV remote controller data(S140,S150); and if not, regarding the analyzed data as audio data, converting the audio data into an analog signal in a power standby mode, and outputting the analog signal to an audio output unit(S160).
