#CMT# #/CMT# The axle has a steering stub axle fixed to an end (20) of a rigid axle (2) by a plate forming a stub axle (3). Flexible connection units are intercalated between the rigid axle and stub axle, and permit rotation of the stub axle around a rotation axis (BY) distinct from a stub axle axis (AY). The connection units have two flexible plates (4, 5) inclined with respect to each other, and including upper edges rigidly fixed to a support part (6) that is fixed to the end of the rigid axle. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising a rear axle. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Rear axle for connecting a chassis and a wheel of a motor vehicle (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The flexible connection units authorize an additional degree of freedom to the wheel, thus improving the filtering effect of percussion force generated by contact between an obstacle and a base of the wheel, without degrading oversteering/understeering performance of the vehicle, and hence improving comfort of the vehicle. The configuration of the rear axle prevents the additional degree of freedom of the wheel from being affected by the stress e.g. breaking stress, applied by the ground to the wheel, thus facilitating passage of the obstacle by slipping of the wheel, without modifying the oversteering/understeering performance of the vehicle, and hence significantly improving the comfort of the vehicle.
