<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process data recording device and a process data recording method for efficiently recording process data necessary for analyzing a phenomenon generated in a plant. <P>SOLUTION: A detection means 31 detects a predetermined event. Detail process data are successively overwritten in a RAM 61. A write protect means 32 inhibits new overwrite in the RAM 61 in response to the detection of an event by the detection means 31.
