PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet oxidation apparatus the energy efficiency of which is made high by preventing a temperature drop in a reaction tower. SOLUTION: The wet oxidation apparatus is provided with: the reaction tower A keeping a high-temperature and high-pressure state; an oxygen-containing gas supply passage 14 to be communicated with the reaction tower A; and an oxygen-containing gas supply means 15 for supplying an oxygen-containing gas into the reaction tower A through the oxygen-containing gas supply passage 14 and constituted so that the oxygen-containing gas to be supplied by the oxygen-containing gas supply means 15 is mixed in slurry in the reaction tower A to oxidize organic matter in the slurry. A heating passage part 14a to be heated by the heat of the reaction tower A is arranged in the oxygen-containing gas supply passage 14 so that the oxygen-containing gas circulating through the oxygen-containing gas supply passage 14 is heated by the heating passage part 14a and the heated oxygen-containing gas is supplied into the reaction tower A when the oxygen-containing gas supply passage 14 is communicated with the reaction tower A.
