<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element capable of maintaining the effective area of an electrode to be constant and attaining uniformizing of capacity, and to provide a gas sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A reference electrode 13 is formed on one side of a solid electrolyte 11, and a detection electrode 14 is formed on the other side of the solid electrolyte 11. An insulating layer 150 is provided in between the solid electrolyte 11 and the reference electrode 13, and an insulating layer 150 is provided in between the solid electrolyte 11 and a detection electrode 134. A gas sensor is so constituted that when the insulating layers 150 and 155 are stacked, to be projected in the opposing direction of a detection electrode part 142 and a reference electrode part 132, so that an opening part which is smaller than the detection electrode part 142 and the reference electrode part 132 is formed at the position, corresponding to the detection electrode part 142 and the reference electrode part 132. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
