PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrene-based compound forming an electrostatic latent image formed by an image-exposing light source such as a semiconductor laser having 350 to 500 nm ocillation wavelength, highly minutely on an organic photosensitive material, reproducing the highly minutely formed electrostatic latent image as a toner image faithfully and forming a highly minute electronic photographic image suitable for a printing field, the organic photosensitive material, a method for forming the image and a device for forming image.

SOLUTION: This pyrene-based compound is provided by having≤1.0% mass-decreasing rate at 400°C (D400) defined by the following formula in a thermal mass analysis. D400=ä(Gi-G400)/Gi}×100.
