<p>An armour piercing projectile (10) having a carrier body (11) and a preferably high density penetrator core (12). The leading edge portion (15) of the carrier body (12) is preferably beveled and extends beyond the front end (14) of the penetrator core. Preferably encompassing the carrier body (12) is a nose shape (13) to provide relatively low aerodynamic drag during flight. The carrier body is designed to allow the projectile to be spin stabilised when fired from a suitable weapon.</p> |
