<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately extract a red-eye region included in a face from an image obtained by imaging the face. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device for detecting a face included in a recording medium such as a recording medium 300 and in image data inputted from an imaging unit 400, and setting an eye region included in the detected face, extracts a color difference on each line in the left/right direction in the eye region, and extracts a red-eye region candidate on each line in the lateral direction on the basis of a state of change in extracted color difference value. Furthermore, the device extracts a color difference value on each line in vertical direction in a range set on the basis of the red-eye region candidate which is existing after removing a noise from the extracted candidate, extracts a red-eye region candidate on each line in the vertical direction on the basis of the state of change in the extracted color difference, and sets the red-eye region included in an eye region on the basis of the red-eye region candidate on each line in the lateral direction and the vertical direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
