<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of improving a brightness by forming a reflecting surface capable of efficiently reflecting the light laterally emitted from a light-emitting element, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting device 1 comprises the light-emitting element 2, and a reflecting case 3 having a mounting surface S for mounting the light-emitting element 2 and a reflecting surface R for enclosing the periphery of the light-emitting element 2. A concave part 31 is formed by providing an anisotropic etching on the surface of a single crystal silicon substrate after forming a mask having a rectangular opening, the reflecting case 3 is provided by forming n-side terminal 32, p-side terminal 33, through-hole electrodes 34a, 34b, connection terminals 35, 36, or the like on the single crystal silicon substrate and the light-emitting element 2 is conductively mounted and resin sealed to the n-side terminal 32 and the p-side terminal 33. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
