PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing for a cooling water pump, having long-time durability while effectively preventing the peeling of a rolling surface resulting from the entry of water. SOLUTION: The rolling bearing 1 for the cooling water pump comprises a rolling element 4 laid between a rotating shaft 10 articulated at one end to a pulley which is driven by an engine and articulated at the other end to an impeller which circulates cooling water, and an outer ring 3 fixed to a housing 11, wherein grease 7 is filled around the rolling element 4 and a space between the outer ring 3 and the rotating shaft 10 is sealed by a pair of sealing unit 8 fixed to both ends of the outer ring 3. The grease 7 is waterproof grease formed by mixing additive containing at least water dispersant in base grease consisting of nonaqueous base oil and thickener.
