PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop cable with a protective coating that prevents deformation such as swelling in the protective coating even when a cicada (Cryptotympana facialis) sticks its ovipositor into the drop cable and prevents a space to lay eggs from being kept by the cicada. SOLUTION: In the optical drop cable 100 in which a coated optical fiber 2 is covered with a protective coating 1, the protective coating 1 is made of a thermoplastic resin having a tensile modulus of elasticity of 12 to 30 MPa in 100% modulus and a tensile strength of 15 to 40 MPa.
