PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately carry out judgement of that a drying object has reached a predetermined moisture value and it is in a dried state. SOLUTION: A drying chamber DC and a cold trap CT are separated, a freeze vacuum drier continuous via a duct (a) provided with a main valve MV is used, change of a degree of vacuum of a certain time is measured from the drying chamber DC having started a process of freeze drying until the cold trap CT, and an air leak amount during this is measured. Following this, change of a degree of vacuum per certain time of each of a drying chamber DC system and a cold trap CT system is measured, an air leak amount of the cold trap CT system is measured, air and steam leak amounts of the drying chamber DC system are measured, an air leak amount of the drying chamber DC system is calculated therefrom to calculate a steam generated amount in the drying chamber DC, and by this, a drying end point is determined.
