The retaining element (1) is firmly connected on a base element (9), particularly body-shell component of a vehicle, by a metallic design of both the elements. The retaining element consists of two sections of a folded integral sheet, namely retaining section (2) and fastening section (3). The sheet metal is designed in the retaining section as a fold with folded journal (4,5) lying together and a folding edge (6) formed by the folded journal. The fastening section is projected separately from each other and are free from the fold.
