<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new, improved friction moderating additive suitable for the use for functional fluids, particularly for a tractor fluid, a tractor hydraulic fluid, a speed regulator liquid, a hydraulic fluid and the like. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a functional fluid formulation containing an alkyltoluenesulfonate salt or a mixture of alkyltoluenesufonate salts of a friction moderating amount and its manufacturing method.
