PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for preventing damages due to injurious organisms such as plant pathogenic microbes or insect pests which damage plant seeds and their grown plants, by applying the method to the plant seeds. SOLUTION: This method for preventing the diseases or insect damages of the plants is characterized by applying a composition containing penthiopyrad and at least one of pyrethrins or synthetic pyrethroids as active ingredients to plant seeds.
