<p>Low-risk ocular regulation of photoneural process by the application of selected wavelength range from visible light in photopic viewing range, comprises: positioning an economical, solarization stable optical filter made from organic or inorganic materials, in the optical path between radiation sources and the eyes. The method is useful for the effective suppression of melatonin secretion, regulating the light sensitivity function of the eyes in photopic vision, decreasing the potential thermal and photochemical retinal damage and visual acuity and reducing the glare. Low-risk ocular regulation of photoneural process by the application of selected wavelength range from visible light in photopic viewing range, comprises: positioning an economical, solarization stable optical filter made of organic or inorganic materials, in the optical path between radiation sources and the eyes, where the optical filter possesses either transmission spectrum of band pass filter (whose wavelength (lambda T50) lies in the range of 440-480 nm, whose maximal transmission amounts to greater than 70%, whose high transmission range of -5% extends itself at least over the wavelength range of the point of intersection of the circadian effective function with the light sensitivity function for the photopic vision of 500-520 nm and whose wavelength (lambda T'50) in the range of >= 555 nm) or transmission spectrum of long pass filters (whose wavelength (lambda T50) lies in the range of 440-480 nm lies, whose maximal transmission (Tmax) amounts to greater than 70% and whose high transmission area of -5% extends itself at least over the wavelength range of the point of intersection of the circadian effective function with the light sensitivity function for photopic vision of 500-520 nm). The method is useful for the effective suppression of melatonin secretion, regulating the light sensitivity function of the eyes in photopic vision, decreasing the potential thermal and photochemical retinal damage, a good contrast sensitivity and visual acuity, reducing the glare and for a high UV-protection. An independent claim is included for an optical filter used in the low-risk ocular regulation of photoneural process, comprising colored polycarbonate with 0.001-0.1 wt.% of copper(II)-ions; 0.01-0.05 wt.% of halogen containing copper-phthalocyanine color index PG7 and 99.99-99.95 wt.% of polycarbonate Lexan LS2 (RTM: Polycarbonate resin thermoplastic material); and colored mineral glass with cerium dioxide, copper oxide, chromium oxide, titanium dioxide and/or iron oxide.</p> |
