PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen ion reduction apparatus reducing hydrogen ion concentration of drinking water to improve its taste for obtaining healthy water, by processing drinking water in a plastic vessel like a PET bottle as it is, to various extents according to a drinker's preference. SOLUTION: This hydrogen ion reduction apparatus is provided with a DC high voltage power source 23 and at least one electrostatic field generation electrode 22 connected thereto, and drinking water 21 sealed in a plastic vessel(PET bottle) 20 having permeability for substance particles is kept close to the electrode 22 for a given time, to thereby reduce hydrogen ion concentration in the drinking water 21.
