PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent turbulence of a base coat coating and enhance adhesion to a second clear coating in a three-coat-two-bake coating method in which a first clear coating is applied by wet on wet after the base coating is applied and heat-cured, and the second clear coating is applied and heat-cured. SOLUTION: The first clear coating comprises a specific acrylic resin (a) obtained from an acrylic monomer (1) having an alkyl ester group of carbon numbers of 8 or more, an acrylic monomer (2) having a hydroxy group with a distance from an acrylic group of carbon numbers of 4 or more, an acrylic monomer (3) having a carboxyl group and other acrylic monomer (4), a specific acrylic resin (b) obtained by polymerizing an acrylic monomer (5) having a hydroxy group, an acrylic monomer (6) having an epoxy group and other acrylic monomer (7), and a specific melamine resin curing agent (c).
