PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and reproducing device displaying a title and the like indicating the recording contents of an optical disk instead of indicating disk mounting from the insertion of the optical disk before the reproduction is started. SOLUTION: A DVD with title information recorded in a free space of an RMD in advance and the mount processing is started. At this time, when a reproduction list key is depressed to set a title information display mode during the period from the start of the mount processing until the end of the mount processing, the title information previously recorded in the free space of the RMD during recording is read out and the reproduction list indicating the title information is displayed on the display device.
