PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and highly precisely evaluate the performance of a computer in a computer system that operates by switching a plurality of virtual computer environments. SOLUTION: The computer system identifies a kind of the virtual computer in operation and switches the permission of a counting operation for each counter determined in accordance with the type of the virtual computer in operation. Thus, the computer system counts a performance index by the counter whose counting operation is permitted and holds a count result obtained during a counting operation for a counter whose counting operation is not permitted.
