PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a path generation system and method for designating the attitude of a traveling object at a start point and an end point. SOLUTION: This path generation system 20 for generating a path on which a traveling object 10 moves from a start point 1 to an end point 3 is provided with: a region setting means 21 for setting a movement-restricted region where the movement of the traveling object 10 is prevented; and a path generation means 22 for generating a path from the start point 1 to the end point 3 so that the restricted region set by the region setting means 21 can be evaded by the traveling object 10. The restricted region is provided with, on both right and left sides from the start point 1 to a moving direction preliminarily set for the start point 1, a curve region part with a curve whose direction is changed gradually from the moving direction to the opposite direction of the moving direction as a part of an outer periphery and a short-circuit restricted region part for preventing the movement from the start point to the opposite moving direction.
