PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof rail attachment structure without causing improving the rigidity of a roof side rail more than needs. SOLUTION: In this roof rail attachment structure, for example, when an automobile 12 is overturned and hit a roof rail 26 against ground 42, a load of more than a predetermined value in a direction that falls inside in a vehicle width direction is applied to the roof rail 26. In this case, since the roof rail 26 falls inside in the vehicle width direction with the vicinity of a bolt 32 as a center of rotation while deforming a roof panel 14, the bolt 32 of the roof rail 26 interferes with the fragile portion 36 of a flange portion 24, and the fragile portion 36 is deformed. During deformation, the fragile portion 36 is ruptured with a ruptured portion 40 as a starting point, and the roof rail 26 is separated together with the bolt 32 and roof panel 14 from the flange portion 24 to the inside in the vehicle width direction.
