The actuator (10) has a cylinder mechanism causing a back and forth movement of a sliding table (14) based on a displacement of a piston. The piston is arranged in a cylinder chamber, and a guiding mechanism (18) is provided with a guiding block (118). The guiding block is attached to a pair of guiding surfaces (22, 24) and comprises a circulation passage. Rolling bodies (126) are circulated in the passage in a rolled manner in order to guide the table along an axial direction of a cylinder body (12). The guiding mechanism is detachably attached to the surfaces.
